Cover image: The collage of a stitched hand by Lani Gaynor was produced as part of a project on self-harm led by young people from the Manchester-based young people�s mental health service, 42nd Street (http://www.fortysecondstreet.org.uk/index.php). The project involved the development of a training pack supported by an exhibition of original art work designed to raise awareness about self-harm. Adolescent self-harm is discussed in this issue by Wood (pp. 434–441) and Dogra (pp. 442–443).
